Update: U.S. orders over $800? Everything’s running smoothly again

🟢 UPDATE April 28th
Following talks between DHL and U.S. authorities, informal entry processing has been reinstated for shipments valued between $800–$2,500. This means faster clearance, fewer paperwork requirements, and reduced delays—though minor backlogs may still occur.

🔴 Old Notice: New U.S. Customs Rules Affecting Orders Over $800

Starting April 5, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has implemented new rules requiring formal customs processing for all shipments valued over $800. This is a significant change from the previous $2,500 threshold and may result in longer delivery times and added import fees.

In addition, many goods imported from the European Union are now subject to a 10% U.S. tariff, which may further increase the total cost of orders exceeding the $800 limit.

According to DHL, this new regulation means that affected shipments must include additional documentation.

What this means for you:
To avoid delays and extra costs, we strongly recommend keeping individual orders under the $800 limit where possible. Splitting larger purchases into multiple shipments can help ensure smoother customs clearance and faster delivery.

We’re monitoring the situation closely and are happy to assist you in planning your orders to stay compliant and efficient.
